Sing! China finalist Nathan Hartono may have a bright future in China's massive music industry whether he wins or loses, possibly with his coach, Mandopop star Jay Chou.

"We have definitely discussed the possibility of working together on future projects, but the nature of which I probably won't say anything for now because I don't want people to get randomly excited for something that might not happen," Hartono told The Straits Times.

"We've definitely been discussing like how we can work together in the future and like where I intend to go after the show is over."

Hartono also said he got "a bunch" of offers from music companies but placed them on hold for now as he wants to "collect himself" first when the competition is over, according to Asia One.

"Once this whole thing is over, I want to settle down back home for a bit, weigh all my options, make sure everything is all clear, then I'll start thinking about what the next few months and years are going to be like," he said.

While many Singaporeans are optimistic that he will bring home the trophy this Friday (Oct. 7), Hartono thinks there is little chance of victory but stressed that making it to the finale is already "a huge deal."

"From what I can tell, the vibe around what we're going for in this final is not so much 'shoot to win', or 'we have to outdo and strategize.' It's pretty much just have fun, push your own boundaries and push your own limits."

"It's crazy enough that I'm gonna be performing at the Beijing National Stadium."

Hartono is the first Singaporean to have made it past the televised auditions. He caught the attention of the four famous judges during the show's live blind audition in July with his R&B-tinged cover of the Mandarin ballad You Mei hou (Have You Ever) by Wei Li An.

The Sing! China finals will be this Friday (Oct. 7) at 8 P.M. It will be screened of the show's official YouTube channel, Asia One noted.
