Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight could join the Sacramento Kings before the new season starts via a three-way trade with the Denver Nuggets.

The Suns' roster is guard-heavy at the moment with Knight, Eric Bledsoe, and emerging star Devin Booker all said to be capable of starting for any other team in the league. Knight and Bledsoe are both combo guards who can play the number one and two positions while Booker is a pure shooting guard.

Suns head coach Earl Watson has reportedly decided to start Bledsoe and Booker this upcoming season, which will leave Knight fighting for minutes off the bench.

While Knight has welcomed the development and even "praised" Coach Watson for it, according to CBS Sports, there are rumors that sooner or later the former Kentucky standout will exit from the squad.

"I mean, we'll see, I can't predict the future, I don't how it will be," Knight said when asked about his new role in Phoenix. "Like I said, I'll do my best to stay warm, figure it out. You have to be professional about it and remain positive."

Knight said that the he "respects" Watson's frankness for letting him know of his demotion.

"I respect Earl. Earl did an excellent job of letting me know ahead of time," said Knight. "He's (a) straightforward, honest guy and I love him for that. That's the reason I want to play for Earl, 'cause a lot of coaches wouldn't handle it that way. I appreciate the way Earl handled it and I respect him a lot for that."

Sportsrageous suggested that a three-team deal with the Kings and Nuggets could eventually happen, which would see Knight move to Sacramento, Omri Casspi and a protected first-round pick to Denver, and Wilson Chandler and a second-round pick to Phoenix.

However, the deal is unlikely because of the salary mismatch of the players involved. Knight's $12 million annual salary is reportedly "too much" for the Kings as Casspi's wage is only $2.9 million yearly.
