Rumors have emerged that Hawks power forward Paul Millsap could be traded to the Toronto Raptors in midseason as the three-time NBA All-Star is still "undecided" about his future in Atlanta.

Millsap, 31, is in the second year of his three-year, $60.2 million deal with the Hawks, which comes with a player option at the end of the season.

He claimed last month that he has not decided yet whether to opt in or out of the final year of his contract in July next year. It would depend on what the Hawks have accomplished at the end of the season before he weighs his options, CBS Sports reported.

"I haven't decided anything, no," Millsap said when he was asked by reporters if he would enter free-agency next summer. "I think the plan is to see how this season goes and go from there."

Millsap then said that he would just focus on playing basketball and help the Hawks win the NBA title than worry about next summer, adding that he will deal with it when the time comes.

If Millsap decides to opt in, he will receive a salary of $21.4 million in 2017-2018. If he chooses otherwise, then he will enter unrestricted free-agency and will earn a starting salary of about $33.6 million if he re-joins Atlanta.

For some NBA analysts, the choice should be simple.

However, the Hawks are aware that if Millsap becomes an unrestricted free agent, many interested teams will send him an offer, and they could lose their versatile big man for nothing when that happens.

Fansided indicated that Atlanta might send Millsap to Toronto in or before February's trade deadline to ensure that they will not go through that predicament next year.

According to the report, the Raptors could offer DeMarre Carroll, Patrick Patterson, and a 2017 first-round pick in exchange for Millsap, although the Hawks may still ask for shooting guard Norman Powell to sweeten the deal.

Still, Toronto would be a legitimate threat to the Cavaliers championship run if that happens. With Millsap, the Raptors get a reliable big man who can score from inside and out, pass the ball, defend, and, most of all, complement the games of Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Lowry, and DeMar DeRozan.
