Chinese basketball fanatics will be able to enjoy the 2016-2017 NBA season thanks to Tencent, a digital broadcast partner of the NBA in China.

There are many basketball fans in China and this season NBA China has gone an extra mile to ensure that they are not starved of the action.

For the first time, thanks to Tencent, the audience can get a taste of what Lebron James, Stephen Curry, and Russell Westbrook live on their TVs and mobile devices.

The digital broadcast platform is a subscription package that brings all NBA games. This is arguably the best news for the 750 million NBA fanatics. There is also a new NBA app, a first of its kind.

"It's really hard to describe the level of passion and excitement of the Chinese basketball fan," said David Shoemaker, the CEO of NBA China. "They are very sophisticated. They have followed the history of the game and are familiar with the legends and key figures."

The different time-zones between America and China is another key factor that has led to the sport being recognized and praised in the region.

When a night game begins in the US, it is morning in China. Fans can be found occasionally peeking to catch a glimpse of the action every once in a while at work or in school or even when relaxed at home.

China is also a fan favorite destination for the players. Stephen Marbury and Tracy McGrady are examples of players who were in the CBA before retiring.
