Residents of the area made contact with local police officials after discovering blood stains on her car, which had all its doors remaining open near the river.

Police officials were reportedly quick to arrive on the scene. And information regarding the woman has been withheld.

In a report issued out by police authorities, the lady allegedly approached two clients earlier in the night and gave them her a contact information in case they would need a taxi afterwards. The suspects made contact of her around midnight hours.

"After boarding her car, they robbed her of 700 yuan ($100) in cash and a gold necklace," read the report. "They also stabbed her several times and forced her to reveal her ATM password."

The report added that after they had withdrawn 4,800 yuan ($693) from her bank account, the suspects threw her dying body into the river. Their plan to drive the car as well to the river was cut short after it got stuck in the river bank.

Within five hours, the two culprits behind her death had been nabbed by city officials and taken into custody as they await prosecution.

"One suspect aged 30, previously spent seven years behind bars for robbery," read the report. "The other suspect, 18, was his colleague at a manufacturing plant."

The woman was a part-time driver for China's prominent taxi driving company Didi Chuxing. The company had early in the year been put on hold after one of its drivers killed a female passenger, according to a report by Yibada.
