Beyoncé and Adele were the only singers to grab nominations in all three major categories after Meghan Trainor read off the nominees for the 2017 Grammy Awards on Tuesday. The two singers will face off for the major categories, namely, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

Beyoncé has scooped nine nominations and extended her lead as the most-nominated woman in the history of Grammy. The If I Were A Boy hitmaker now has 62 Grammy nominations across her work as a solo artist and as part of Destiny's Child, making her the fourth most-nominated artist ever.

Beyoncé and Adele will compete with Justin Bieber, Drake, and country star Sturgill Simpson in the best album category.

If Adele wins, she will be the second woman to receive the best album prize twice, after Taylor Swift. On the other hand, West, Drake, and Rihanna received eight nominations, while Chance The Rapper garnered seven.

Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy, said that as they see emerging musicians experimenting, they are also seeing established artists resisting from what is expected of them and, instead, embracing the creative freedom they have been afforded through their success, blurring the lines between music's mainstream and artistic edge.

The awarding ceremony will be hosted by James Corden and feature a "very different look and feel" from previous shows, according to Portnow.

"Unlike most of the shows on TV, which are basically entertainment specials - maybe there's some process and some voting and some rules and regulations, but nothing like ours - so we take it very seriously," Portnow said.

The Grammy Award 2017 will air live from Los Angeles' Staples Center on Feb. 12. You can completely view the list of Nominees for the 59th Annual Grammy on the official website of the Grammy's.
