There are rumors that the Boston Celtics are willing to offer three players and three future draft picks to acquire All-Star center Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans.

HNGN reported that the Celtics are preparing a trade package including shooting guard Avery Bradley, power forward Amir Johnson, and rookie Jaylen Brown plus the Nets' 2017 and 2018 first-round draft pick (via Boston) and the Grizzlies 2019 first-round draft pick (via Boston as well) to offer to the Pelicans in exchange for Davis and power forward Terrence Jones.

Some analysts think that Boston is giving up a lot to acquire the three-time NBA All-Star and former two-time NBA blocks leader, but team president and general manager Danny Ainge is said to be all-in to achieve their goal of signing a legitimate superstar that will lead the club to the future.

Having Davis in the team would instantly make the Celtics one of the Eastern Conference contenders, if not NBA Title contenders, able to compete with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans are set to receive a huge haul of reliable players and valuable draft picks to go on a full rebuild as the team continues to struggle to stay afloat this season. New Orleans is currently third from the last place in the stacked Western Conference with an 8-18 record despite Davis playing his best season in the NBA so far.

Davis, who is currently playing in his fifth season in the NBA, all with the Pelicans, is averaging 30.5 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 blocks, and 1.7 steals in 38.3 minutes per game in 24 games so far this season, all career-highs except in blocked shots.

Davis has already been linked to the Celtics earlier this season as Boston sees him as a potential "game-changer" for the franchise, as per CSNNE.

However, the report said that the only way Davis will get traded is if he himself wants out of his dismal situation in New Orleans. It might be too early to tell right now, but if the Pelicans continue to lose as the trade deadline draws nearer, then Davis might decide to eventually exit the team.
