Chinese Basketball Association: Yi Jianlian Leads Guangdong Southern Tigers in a Win Over Shanxi Brave Dragons

The sizzling team of Guangdong Southern Tigers continued to extend their winning runs as they prevailed over Shanxi Brave Dragons with a blowout 124-93 victory in the 20th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Wednesday night.

According to EuroBasket, four-time CBA Domestic MVP Yi Jianlian put on another incredible game performance of 31 points and 12 rebounds to finish the game in double-double and deliver the 17th win of the Southern Tigers in 20 matches played this season. The former NBA player, who went on a 13-22 shooting from the floor, also had four steals and one blocked shot in 31 minutes of playing time.

Guangdong's American imports have their share on the win with Donald Sloan scoring 22 points and Carlos Boozer posting another double-double production of 14 markers and 15 boards.

Chinese forward Peng Zhou contributed with 15 points, while compatriots Shang Gao and Zhao Rui chipped in with 11 points and 10 points, respectively, for the winners, who forced the Brave Dragons to commit 21 turnovers during the game. The victory stretched the Feng Du-headed basketball team's winning streak to 15 consecutive wins since suffering their third loss of the season against the Shanghai Sharks.

Former NBA player and the CBA's current leading playmaker Jamaal Franklin paced Shanxi with 36 points and 11 rebounds while Samuel Dalembert adding with 15 markers and 12 boards. Only the two foreign basketball reinforcements finished the match in double figures for the losing team.

Basing from the game result in the NowGoal, the Southern Tigers kicked off the first 12 minutes of the contest with an early 32-19 run. They continued to pound the opposing side with another 39-23 charge in the second period to end the first half enjoying a commanding 29-point advantage, 71-42.

In the final two quarters of the match, the Southern Tigers remained to have the control of the ballgame and managed to limit the point production of Shanxi. They continued to outscore the Brave Dragons in the last 24 minutes of the match with a 53-51 run to seal the victory.
