Fumination has given a major Christmas surprise to its "Attack on Titan" fans by releasing the series' official season 2 trailer on Saturday (Dec. 24).

After the long wait, "Attack on Titan" season 2 release date has officially been set on April 2017. However, its production has not yet confirmed the exact premiere date.

The new and first trailer of season 2 has brought Christmas cheer to fans as it teased more details and introduced more titans, the Polygon reported.

The sneak peek started off with a footage that will be familiar to most fans. It also showed an army of titans walking toward the community of humans to attack them. 

One character mentioned that some titans have been protecting humans against other titans. Of course, the video also showed Eren fighting in a form of titan.

The video also threw a mystery to fans as it showed a scene of a fury titan, who appeared to be catapulting a horse toward a member of the Survey Corps.

As mentioned earlier, a lot of titans appeared in the video including smaller ones with oversized heads. 

Apparently, the official trailer hinted that it will not be easy for the cops to defeat the man-eating giants. Also, it is not clear if the Beast Titan and a horde of titan are another threats to humans.

Meanwhile, the latest "Attack on Titan" trailer did not give any hint about Annie. It can be recalled in the last episode of season 1 that she has been covered in crystal and that she is also a titan with an ability to harden parts of her skin.
