Launched as a beta Android app in 2010, SwiftKey is a predictive typing tool app. It has been thoroughly tested and is counted among the best-selling paid apps in Google Play. It only rolled out as a free version last June.

SwiftKey will soon let any iOS user customize his keyboard with a word prediction feature that can only get better over time as the app knows how to learn personal typing styles.

The SwiftKey "Flow," which was introduced back in 2012, will allow a gliding gesture feature that will type words without lifting a finger off the keyboard. The typing feature will work accurately in most situations, dragging letter from letter to predict the patterns being traced as the intended words.

The free app for iOS will also allow users to simultaneously type in two languages without switching keyboards. The multilingual typing feature will support over a dozen languages at launch with more to come.

In addition, SwiftKey will offer its Cloud feature that can store and sync language data for custom dictionaries.

The app will also come with new emoji support and different keyboard layouts, which include both free and paid versions.

SwiftKey is just setting its sights on getting the technology as widely distributed as possible, said its chief technology officer Ben Medlock.
