The Shadow Brokers, the infamous hacker group that stole cyberweapons from the United States National Security Agency (NSA), have announced that they are signing off but not before sharing all of its hacking tools into the Internet. It appears that Shadow Brokers have developed a suite of hacking tools that are designed to penetrate computers that are running on the Windows platform.

The Shadow Brokers announced on Thursday that they are dumping their hacking arsenal in exchange for bitcoin, the cryptocurrency favored by hackers due to its intricate design that makes it hard for investigators to track.

The Shadow Brokers made headlines back in August 2016 when the group dumped hacking tools, which can be used to penetrate routers and firewall products, which they claimed were developed by the Equation Group, a cyber-espionage group that they suspect are working for the NSA, according to TechWorm.

Top security experts said that the Shadow Brokers' hacking tools contained previously unknown exploits and cracks, which cemented the group's credibility, according to PC World. The group's latest dump before signing off includes 61 files, many of which are virtually unknown to the security community.

Some in the tech community believe that the Shadow Brokers were advertising their tools, something that the group confirmed through its final message claiming "Despite theories, it always being about bitcoins for TheShadowBrokers."

The group has previously tried to sell its hacking arsenal for one million bitcoins, which was roughly $584 at the time of its auction. However, after several months, the auction only managed to receive a top price of 10 bitcoins.
