Chinese Super League clubs Beijing Sinobo Guoan and Jiangsu Suning have pulled out of the race to acquire Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney, according to latest reports.

Speculations went out that Rooney, 31, is planning a summer exodus from Manchester after not getting enough first-team time under new head coach Jose Mourinho this season. The CSL is said to be one of the options for the England national team skipper as well as the United States' Major League Soccer.

There are rumors that at least four China top-flight squads are interested in signing Rooney, namely Guangzhou Evergrande, Tianjin Quanjian, Beijing Guoan, and Jiangsu Suning, should he decide to push through with his summer exit plans.

Rooney's agent, Paul Stretford is in China right now trying to fix a lucrative deal for his client, according to latest transfer rumors.

The Mirror reported that two of the aforementioned teams, Beijing and Jiangsu, have "ruled themselves out" of contention, saying that they are "not interested" in getting the veteran Englishman.

The report noted that at this time, Tianjin Quanjian has the best chance of landing Rooney because of the team has the financial capacity to pull off such an enormous deal. However, Rooney recently addressed the rumors and said that he has "no intention of leaving Old Trafford this season," as per ESPN.

"Despite the interest which has been shown from other clubs, for which I'm grateful, I want to end recent speculation and say that I am staying at Manchester United," Rooney said in an official statement.

"I hope I will play a full part in helping the team in its fight for success on four fronts. It's an exciting time at the club and I want to remain a part of it," he added.

Rooney's $377,000 weekly wage is set to expire next summer and there are no indications yet whether United will sign him to another long-term extension. The only clear thing about Rooney now is that he has not found favor in Mourinho, who has not given him regular starting XI time this season.
