Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG FC will meet A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers in a 2017 AFC Champions League group stage match at the Shanghai Stadium in China on Tuesday.

SIPG is coming off an opening round 1-0 victory over K League Classic champions FC Seoul on Feb. 21 in a match held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in South Korea. Brazilian striker Hulk provided the winning goal for head coach André Villas-Boas' side in the 53rd minute of the contest.

Meanwhile, the Wanderers dropped an embarrassing 0-4 defeat to Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds in their own opening round fixture held at their own home field of Campbelltown Stadium also on Feb. 21.

SIPG and Urawa are now leading Group F with three points each while Western Sydney and Seoul has yet to gain a point.

Villas-Boas, who took over from former England boss Sven-Göran Eriksson as the Red Eagles head coach in November of last year, said that they are "not expecting an easy ride" against the Wanderers and that they will not underestimate the 2014 ACL champions, ESPN reported.

"I've seen the match video (of the loss to Urawa), they should have been better than they were in the game against Urawa in the last match," the Portuguese mentor said. "They were the 2014 Asian Champions League champions, so we can't underestimate such an opponent. We have to win the game tomorrow."

WSW head coach Tony Popovic, who is rumored to be Shanghai Shenhua's target to replace Gus Poyet as its manager, admitted that it will be tough for his squad to face the Shanghai giants especially playing on the road. He cited the lack of rest and preparation of his players is a key factor in determining how well will they fare against the Red Eagles, as per the Daily Telegraph.

"You don't really have enough players to be able to have two full teams in both (competitions)," said Popovic. "We've got to assess the players - who is injured, who is okay to travel, who isn't - we've got a couple of hours to assess."

"We have to get over there, recover and prepare for Shanghai. We'll have a day's training there, a light run on Monday, and then we'll play Tuesday night," he added.
