Newly-promoted Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian FC is set to pursue Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to the latest football transfer rumors.

Lukaku, 23, is considered as one of the best young goalscorers in world football right now with 17 goals in 25 Premier League appearances so far this season. He has been a 20-plus goalscorer in the last two seasons with Everton, and there are no indications that he is letting up soon.

The Sun reported that Tianjin Quanjian manager Fabio Cannavaro is keen on adding him to his roster this summer. At the moment, Cannavaro has Belgian sensation Axel Witsel, South Korean Kwon Kyung-won, and Brazilians Alexandre Pato, Geuvânio, and Junior Moraes.

Cannavaro said that the Belgium international is one player he "would love to tempt to the Far East," but Everton is reportedly adamant to keep him for the foreseeable future no matter how large is the offer.

"It is possible to speak to Romelu Lukaku, but the problem is that Everton don't want to let him leave," said Cannavaro. "It is not a worry for me that he is younger. Some people think a player like him could not come to China, but he would be a perfect fit."

Cannavaro said that every footballer in the world wants to be on a winning team as he seemed to be hinting that he will make Quanjian a force in the CSL this season despite being a newcomer in the first division.

Caught Offside noted that Lukaku has improved his game this season. From being a one-dimensional goalscorer, the 6-foot-3 Belgian has now "tightened up his first-touch, his link-up play is more fluid, and his hold-up play has taken major steps forward," which made him become a more "well-rounded" striker.
