Hollywood veteran actor Al Pacino revealed that he will be returning to the London stage for the first time in 30 years for Oscar Wilde's 'Salome', promising 'decadence'.

The 'Godfather' actor disclosed that he will be leading a full production of 'Salome' by renowned classical writer Oscar Wilde in the spring of 2016.

The 74-year old actor has been in performances for said production in Los Angeles and Brooklyn, but according to him, those performances were more on rehearsed play readings than a fully 'dressed-up' show.

Pacino stated that the new production for London will be a whole new different thing from their performances in the US. "There will be makeup, sets, costumes and decadence," says the actor.

Pacino, who also starred in the 1992 film 'Scent of a Woman', jokingly added, "We'll be wearing clothes for London," on his interview after being presented with highest honor by the British Film Institute called the BFI Fellowship.

On the other hand, in the film version of Wilde's 'Salome', Pacino shared that it was the first movie that the lead character, actress Jessica Chastain, ever made. He claimed that they were lucky to have her play the role, but also stated that he, along with 'Salome' director Robert Allan Ackerman and producer Robert Fox, needed to discover another actress who will play the role of Salome in London.

Pacino expressed that he is hoping to make an appearance in another play in New York, possibly in a work by David Mamet, before he kick-starts the production for Salome in London next, next year.

The A-list actor also shared that he had been addicted to Wilde's 'Salome' since the time he watched Steven Berkoff's performance in the play back in 1989 in London. A documentary of the actor's inclination towards the piece was shown when he was given the BFI Fellowship award last September 21.

On the same day, the film version of Wilde's 'Salome' also premiered in Los Angeles and has now been released in theatres.
