Chinese Holiday: Exhausted Body and Mind

Too few holidays is the feeling of many Chinese people. Wei Zhang was not home yet, there had been three gathering party invitations for him. His holiday schedule was like this: Visit family and party with classmates on New Year's Day; Visit friends and relatives from Day 2 to Day 4; meet with old friends and classmates in two dinners..."We can only get together with all friends and family in a few days a year, so we feel tired but very happy." He said with a little frustrated, "there is not so much time to be with parents."

Jia Deng's experience was very similar with Zhang's. Friends all chose to have weddings during Chinese New Year. Before the holidays, she had received two wedding invitations and a few party and dinner appointments. During the holiday, she nearly did not have dinner at home. Restaurants and KTV were her resorts. Deng felt so tired but did not like the time she spent in the New Year.

Moreover, the various pressures from relatives and friends made Deng and Zhang exhausted both in body and mind. "Do you have a girlfriend?" "When are you going to get marry?" "Let me introduce a marriage partner to you." Every time Zhang visited relatives, these kinds of conversations would be always mentioned.

Deng's pressure was from the almost empty wallet. Besides the cash gift for friends' weddings, Deng had to give out lucky money to the younger relatives. Because of that, she felt too much pressure. Looking at the "smaller and smaller" wallet, she exclaimed that it was so hard to earn money, but it was so easy to spend money.

Zhang and Deng were too exhausted but happy in the holiday. After that, the tense working life is waiting for them.
