The news that Georges St-Pierre (GSP) - welterweight champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) with the most title defenses - was reported to be returning to MMA as told by a former manager. The news is a hoax.

Firas Zahabi, long-time head coach of GSP, refuted the reports that former manager Stephane Patry made to news site RDS.

Zahabi told MMAFighting.com GSP has, "absolutely no return plan [right now]."

GSP decided to retire after a razor-close fight against current welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks, his ninth title defense.

His return was placed on further hiatus when he suffered a torn ACL last March.

While he is still retired, he has not stated any plans to totally retire, as well as reveal any information on whether or not he will be returning.

GSP did issue a statement recently though saying how he would not return to fighting until stricter drug testing is implemented for his future fights.

He had called for a similar test for his out with Hendricks, but ultimately it failed to materialize.

He has cited several reasons for his retirement, including his obsessive-compulsive disorder, the loss of his competitive drive, and the need for a break. However, chief among them is the rampant use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) in the sport.

GSP went on to say that his actions reflected the way he wanted to help his fellow athletes who are honest and work hard.

Lately, numerous fighters have been identified as taking PEDs. Fighters include the American Gangster Chael Sonnen, Wanderlei Silva, and Vitor Belfort who is challenging for the middleweight championship next February.

The new fighter to be caught in the crossfire is Cung Le, who is presently trying to appeal the decision.

The UFC has begun to take notice of fighters on PEDs, with Lorenzo Fertitta recently coming out to say that they will be testing all 600 fighters year-round.
