A TV series that was aired back in the 70s and 80s is about to get a makeover on CBS. It is none other than Neil Simon's classic play, The Odd Couple to star TV veteran Matthew Perry as Oscar Madison and comedian Thomas Lennon as Felix Unger.

The story is about Oscar and Felix who just recently got divorced from their wives and decided to move in together. Their personalities are completely different which makes the whole story more interesting.

This is not the first time Perry and Lennon teamed up since they already worked as bestfriends in the movie 17 Again with Zac Efron.

It was back in December of last year that the network made a statement about the development of this series but they have not set an official release date.  Though a lot of people thought this would no longer push through, the network confirmed, they will get on  with their original plan and will be seen in 2015.

One of the interesting characters of the show is Oscar's assistant Dani, played by Yvette Nicole Brown. The role was supposed to be given to Sarah Baker but a recasting was conducted and the role ended up to Brown.

The producers think Brown is most likely to be a regular on the show. She is the complete opposite of her boss Oscar being a neat freak while he is a mess.

Since the production have already started, the release is expected anytime soon. This is the 4th attempt to have The Odd Couple back on TV.

The ABC didn't succeed when they tried releasing it as a live action sitcom, did not get good ratings either as an animated series. But this time, critics are optimistic and fans can look forward to a more enjoyable TV viewing.

The Odd Couple is coming back on CBS television next year so, stay tuned as the network is  yet to announce the release date.
