The HTC One M8 comes with a 5-inch Super LCD3 display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 441 ppi pixel density while the HTC Desire Eye features a 5.2-inch LCD display with the same resolution and 424 ppi.

The Desire Eye only has 16 GB of internal storage but it has expandable memory support of up to 128 GB through a microSD slot.

The One M8 was released six months before the Desire Eye but the devices have almost the same specs. Both handsets have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with 2 GB of RAM.

The Desire Eye, however, has a major camera upgrade offering a 13 megapixel ear camera with dual-LED flash. It also has a 13 megapixel front camera with dual-LED flash as well.

Both front and back cameras can record 1080p videos. Meanwhile, the One M8 sports a 2 UltraPixels rear camera with dual-LED flash with two lenses called Dup Camera. It also has a 5 megapixel front camera.

The HTC One M8 comes with a Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery unit while the HTC Desire Eye only has a Li-Ion 2400 mAh battery unit. The One M8 costs A$609.95 while the Desire Eye is priced at A$767.
