(Photo : FitBit) FitBit has announced the Charge, Charge HR and Surge today, kicking off their 2014/2015 lineup of fitness devices.

FitBit has announced its new range of fitness bands, the first launch since the full recall of the FitBit Force, which received mass complaints that it caused skin irritation.

The three devices include the FitBit Charge, FitBit Charge HR and FitBit Surge. The FitBit Charge will feature the same fitness band with small LED strip, while the FitBit Surge will feature some smartwatch functions.

FitBit Charge will be the only device available for holiday season. This will take over the recalled FitBit Force, with a newly textured design, firmer clasp and a new sleeping sensor, which automatically knows when you are asleep.

The fitness band's small LED shows incoming calls and texts. FitBit will be adding new software features for challenges every day, week or month. The FitBit Charge HR's only difference will be heart-rate monitor added onto the fitness band.

FitBit Charge will be available for $129.99 and the FitBit Charge HR will be available for $149.99, although the latter will not be available for purchase until 2015.

FitBit Surge is a whole different type of fitness band, and it is easy to see FitBit is interested in the smartwatch market, even if its playing it conservatively. The FitBit Surge has an OLED display on the front and has some smartwatch functions, although this is still all about fitness.

The heart-rate monitor is available on the FitBit Surge, alongside all the other features added to the FitBit Charge. It will start at $249.99 and will arrive sometime in 2015.
