NBA: Norris Cole Replaces LeBron James in New Big “3” of Miami

Miami point guard Norris Cole replaced LeBron James in the new Big "3" as the Heat won over the Washington Wizards 107-95 in their first game of the National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season on Wednesday.

Cole contributed 23 points along with Chris Bosh's 26 and Dwayne Wade's 21 points for a total of 70 points for the newly formed Big "3" of Miami.

Luol Deng was poised to become the third man but after an astounding performance by the point guard, it looks like the 26-year-old Cole, who also happens to be from Ohio, will replace the Cleveland star in its quest for a fourth NBA title.

Both teams started feeling each other out in the first quarter as they exchanged leads seven times before Washington made three straight baskets to give them a six-point edge by the end of the quarter.

Power forward Bosh led Miami's comeback in the second quarter as he scored 16 points including two three-point field goals to put the Heat up by one at the end of the first half.

Cole was the main man for Miami in the third quarter as he led the Heat with 10 points to keep them on top by two at the end of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the new Big "3" of Miami contributed 17 points as Wade finished off the Wizards with a 25-foot three point jumper at the end of regulation time.

Wade also contributed a game-high of 15 rebounds while Drew Gooden and Marcin Gortat both scored 18 points to lead the Wizards while Washington point guard John Wall contributed 11 assists.

Newly acquired Paul Pierce of Washington, last year with the Brooklyn Nets, scored 17 points, six rebounds and five assists while counterpart Deng, traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers, contributed 12 points including a monstrous dunk over three Wizard defenders in the first quarter of play.
