Marvel was on a roll this week from rumors of Benedict Cumberbatch playing "Dr. Strange" to their announcement of their full movie lineup.

But not everyone is impressed with the rumors of Cumberbatch taking on the role of "Dr. Strange."

Comic book writer, JM DeMatteis may have said that the casting was the "Best comic-casting since Robert Downey was cast as Iron Man." But according to a source, Marvel fans were so outraged and disgusted by the news that some have announced that they will boycott the film if in fact the British actor will be playing the character.

It seems like people are getting tired of Cumberbatch seeing as he has well been overexposed. He has starred in movies such as "Star Trek", "The Hobbit" and most recently as Alan Turing in the biopic "The Imitation Game"

Marvel announced new movies such as "Black Panther" and "Captain Marvel," both of which have specific races making Dr. Strange the only character that can be played by an actor of any ethnicity.

Fortunately for Cumberbatch, it seems like his troop of Sherlock fans have caught wind of the backlash and have started to defend him in social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Some fans have already rendered images of Benedict in full Dr. Strange costume, others went as far as creating "movie posters" which show how perfect the actor would be if he will in fact be taking on the role.

So far Marvel has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors. No other announcements have been made about the film.
