Canadian star Milos Raonice has reached his second career Masters 1000 finals after defeating fifth seeded Tomas Berdych in a three set clash 6-3 3-6 7-5 at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris on Saturday.

After Raonic defeated second seeded Roger Federer in the quarterfinals, the 23-year-old Canadian's first victory over a top 3 player which clinched him a spot at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London, the Citi Open champion was all pumped up in his match against Berdych.

The seventh seed broke the 2005 former tournament champion mid-way in the first set and held serve to take the set but Berdych broke Raonic back in the second set to send the match into a deciding third set.

In the decider, both players held on to their serves but when it was time for Berdych to serve in order to send the set into a tie-break at 5-6, the If Stockholm Open titlist committed two double faults and two unforced errors that gave the match to Raonic.

"It's great, I played another very good match today," Raonic said. "I had some difficulties there at certain aspects of the match. But I was able to find solutions, I was fortunate with that."

The China Open finalist smashed his racket at the net after committing his final error in frustration, as he literally gave away the match to Raonic.

"There is not much to say, I just totally messed it up with the last game," Berdych said. "It was definitely the worst game I ever played here at this tournament this year. That's what decides it and what makes it feel bad."

Raonic reached his first Masters 1000 tournament last year at the Rogers Cup in Montreal where he lost to Rafael Nadal. His best record at any Grand Slam event was at the recent Wimbledon Open where he appeared at the semifinals but lost to Roger Federer.
