GTA V Includes First-Person Mode for Xbox One, PS4 and PC

GTA V

Rockstar Games announced Tuesday that Grand Theft Auto V will add a first-person viewpoint for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions.

Players will have a dedicated button that will let them switch between the two modes: third-person mode and first-person viewpoint. Grand Theft Auto Online will also have the first-person mode.

Gamers can toggle the viewpoint at any time, and can experience the Los Santos in first-person while walking, driving, parachuting or swimming.

First-person view is one of the new changes in the game, including upgraded visuals, new side-missions and music.

"We've made a host of changes to accommodate this new perspective, including the creation of an optional first person cover system, a new targeting system, a more traditional FPS control scheme, and integrating thousands of new animations into the existing game," disclosed a Rockstar Games' news post.

Upgraded visuals will let players experience 4K resolution. Xbox One and PS4 owners will be locked at a 1080p resolution and 30fps, however. There will be hundreds of additional features and enhancements exclusive to Xbox One, PC, and PS4 owners.

The shooting sections can also be set to assisted aim, semi-assisted aim or free aim. Gamers can disable the combat rolls and ragdolling, as well.

New foliage system, new weapons, new vehicles, denser traffic and wildlife are all included, along with the 17 radio stations that feature more than 100 new songs and DJ mixes.

Rob Nelson, Animation Director on GTA V, said the first-person viewpoint will help gamers discover the world via virtual eyes, and be able to get out of blades of grass, the number of cars on the freeway, the foliage waving in a virtual wind, and more.

The Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game will arrive November 18, and the PC version will be here on January 27, 2015.
