Sony Xperia Z3 Compact: Small and Powerful Handset

One of the best performing smartphones in the market, with battery life second to none.

Various OEMs recently released mini versions of their flagship devices and most were on a mid-range level.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact was launched in 2013. It was a smartphone that didn't compromise on power. While a compact version of the Xperia Z2 wasn't launched, the next Compact iteration was seen at the IFA 2014.

This is the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.

Sony released the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact in the United States on Nov. 4. The device is dubbed the world's lightest and slimmest 8-inch slate.

The Wi-FI only Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact with 32 GB of internal storage can be purchased from the Sony U.S. online store for US$499.99.

The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact with LTE will be released in the near future and is expected to cost slightly more than the Wi-Fi only variant. The device is set to be released on Nov. 17 in the United States and will costs US$529.99 without a service contract.

The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact comes in black, white, orange and green colors.

The Xperia Z3 Compact runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS but Google's newest Android 5.0 Lollipop is in the works. It's to be released early in 2015.

The device has Sony's Walkman software that plays a lot of formats such as m4a, among others. It  also has two front stereo speakers.

The Xperia Z3 Compact is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset with the same wireless capabilities and sensors as its bigger version. It comes with 2 GB of RAM unlike the bigger Z3 that comes with 3 GB of RAM.
