According to multiple witness reports, Michael Brown reportedly had his hands in the air just before officer Wilson open fired killing the unarmed black teenager instantly.

The incident that occurred in August sparked weeks of endless protests among the community of Ferguson, as they were harassed by police in armored gear shooting off canisters of tear gas into crowds. Some night's protests even escalated into residents looting stores and vandalizing property.

A grand jury will be making their announcement anytime within the next couple weeks, and both the community and the police force are gearing up for any possibility that might ensue.

Multiple reports claims to have spotted police authorities with heavily armored assault vehicles roaming the Ferguson area as well as multiple National Guard helicopters flying around in what now appears to be a warzone.

According to CBS, some families in the Ferguson community will protest regardless of the verdict on Darren Wilson. If the officer is indicted then people will be roaming the streets out in celebration, but if they don't like the grand jury's announcement then protests can potentially escalate into violence very quickly.

"We're getting gas masks and we're trying to protect ourselves," said Erica Slaughter, mother of two boys.

Even local businesses are spotted preparing for more potential looting and vandalizing of property by boarding up windows and tightening up security measures.

Organizers have reportedly created "19 rules of engagement" they want the police to implement during protests, rather than treating protestors as "enemy combatants." However, police chief Jon Belmar doesn't rule out the use of tear gas and other such tactics.

"I have a responsibility...to make sure that everybody walks out of this on the other end," Belmar said.
