Shia LaBeouf shared that despite previously saying that his experience with his #IAMSORRY installation was nothing but amazing, a series of emails with Dazed writer Aimee Cliff had the actor admitting that he was raped during the said art show.

The said show, lasting five days in February, saw LaBeouf sitting silently in a gallery with a paper bag on his head. The public was allowed in the gallery one at a time to spend some private time with him.

However, not everyone who came to see him had good intentions.

According to the "Fury" star, "One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for 10 minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me. [She] then walked out with her lipstick smudged to her awaiting boyfriend who I image was quite hurt by it."

He said that hundreds of people were waiting in line when the woman exited the gallery with smudged lipstick and disheveled hair. One of those in line was her girlfriend, Mia Goth, who found out about the woman from the people in line, and immediately went inside the gallery to confront him about it.

LaBeouf said because his silence was part of the show, he couldn't speak to her, and they both "sat with this unexplained trauma silently". The actor admitted that it was the most painful and hardest part of his art show.

The performer said that his art installation wasn't a gimmick, neither was it an attempt at manipulating the public to his favor.

"I was genuinely remorseful," he said.

He said that the bad experiences in the installation did occur, but that there were those who came and genuinely wanted to give him advice, and to just show him compassion and love. He said he has never before experienced such humanity.
