The Walking Dead Season 5: A Heart-Pounding Finale (Spoiler Alert)

Although "Walking Dead" fans might have already anticipated the worst, still nothing could have prepared viewers the season five mid-season finale for its heart-pounding ending titled "Coda."

Loyal spectators knew something big was happening given all the clues of numerous close encounters with walkers, yet too few deaths during the past 8 episodes. It has been foreseen that somebody was going to die during the mid-season finale and true enough, the program says good-bye to Beth.

Many have attested to how tear-inducing the scenes were involving Beth's death - from the time she was shot, to the moment when Daryl carried her frail and lifeless body, and to the reaction of her sister Maggie as she realized her beloved sibling's death.

Then there was Dawn who was actually responsible for Beth's death. Eventually, she was taken out by both Rick and Daryl as they witnessed her shooting Beth. Many believed that Dawn did not really mean to kill Beth but was left with no choice. It was a battle of wits and survival.

Apart from Beth and Dawn, Lamson was another casualty in "Coda." He died of gun shots coming from Rick's riffle following a cat-and-mouse chase.

One of Dawn's men, O'Donnell, also lost his life after being pushed down the elevator channel and was presumed to have been engorged by the walkers waiting down below.

The season ends with Rick and his team being mostly reunited to one another. Carl, Judith, Gabriel, and Michonne were all saved at the walker-abandoned church by Abraham. Carol still is in a pretty bad shape but it is assumed that she is already on her way to recovery.

The episode closes at a scene where Morgan is shown entering the said church with so many questions reverberating in people's minds like what his business is in the next episodes and how long it will take him to finally draw near with Rick's group.
