After leaving TVB and having signed a multi-million dollar contract with Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), it came as a surprise when Lam was nominated for the Best Actor accolade in the upcoming 2014 edition of the TVB Anniversary Awards.

Lam, however, thinks that he will not win since the recipient of the award will be chosen through TVB's judging panel and votes from the audience.  In addition, he has expressed that he will not be attending this year's awards ceremony.

"I don't really have confidence and I know my chances aren't big," says the 34-year old. Lam then added that the other nominees have greater chances of winning the award than him.

He also cleared the issue, saying that his claims did not have anything to do with him not being a contract artist of TVB anymore. The actor, who will be reviving his singing career under EEG, stated that he thinks he still he has room for improvement when it comes to his performances.

Lam explained the reason behind his decision not to attend the ceremony, saying that on that day, he has to be in Mainland China for work.

On the other hand, rumors that other TVB artists will be following the actor's footsteps in leaving the talent outfit has surfaced recently. According to recent media reports, actors Ron Ng and Wong Cho Lam allegedly did not have any plans to renew their contract with TVB.

'Tiger Cubs 2' star Linda Chung, on the one hand, is reportedly not happy about the management after she lost to Kristal Tin for the TV Queen award last year.

Lam, who was asked to react about the issue, denied that his departure influenced the mentioned stars' alleged decisions to leave the company, saying that everyone has the right to make their own decisions.
