Inside Out will reportedly take viewers inside the human mind as the five human emotions of Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, and Sadness play out a miniature drama inside the thoughts of an 11-year-old girl.

According to the Pixar website, Inside Out will revolve around the central character of Riley - a young girl who is guided through life by the five emotions which control her mind.

"Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith)." The plot synopsis detailed on the Pixar site.

The top-tier cast voicing the five emotions have been confirmed although there is not yet information regarding who will be playing the character of Riley.

Inside Out marks only the second Pixar film to feature a female protagonist with the first being the character of Merida in the 2012 hit Brave.

Pixar veteran Pete Docter, who has worked on well-known films such as Monster's Inc., Toy Story, and Up will be directing Inside Out which is due to be released in theatres June 9th, 2015.

Michael Arndt, who has written screenplays for popular films such as Toy Story 3 and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, worked together with Pete Docter to write the script for Pixar's much anticipated new release.
