Iconic show creator Shonda Rimes is not at all happy that the press has downplayed the racist context of Sony co-chairperson Amy Pascal's recently leaked email correspondence regarding President Barack Obama.

In the said email thread between Pascal and producer Scott Rudin, the two talk about Obama and the likelihood that he preferred movies that were black-centric, such as "Django Unchained" and "The Butler", simply because the president is black.

Rhimes took to Twitter to express her anger over the leaked emails, as well as the press' alleged downplaying of the racial context of the threads.

"Calling Sony comments "racially insensitive remarks" instead of "racist"? U can put a cherry on a pile of sh*t but it don't make it a sundae," Rhimes posted.

The 44-year old "How to Get Away with Murder" creator might not be too happy with how the press has handled the issue - but she should certainly be happy and proud about winning the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award last week.

Accepting her award, Rhimes credited all the women who came before her for allowing her to be successful in Hollywood, saying that the glass ceiling was already shattered before she even came into the scene.

"When I finally hit that ceiling, I think it just exploded into dust. My sisters who came before me had already handled it," she shared.

While "Scandal" actor Tony Goldwyn presented Rhimes with the award, First Lady Michelle Obama gave praise to the series creator and screenwriter via video.

Former Paramount chief Sherry Lansing, the award's namesake, also gave praise to the "Grey's Anatomy" creator, sharing that she is utterly obsessed with all the shows Rhimes has created.

"Shonda has literally redefined the role of women in television, and in doing so, in society as well," the 70-year old Lansing shared during the event.
