Despite having been won an Oscar, recent email leaks have revealed that Jennifer Lawrence earned less than her male co-stars on "American Hustle".

Both Lawrence and Oscar nominee Amy Adams only earned 7 percent from the movie, while Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner earned 9 percent each.

President of Business Affairs and Administration for Columbia Pictures, wrote to Pascal and of SPE Motion Picture Group Doug Belgrad about the back-end compensation of each actor for the said money.

"Got a steve warren/gretchen rush call that it's unfair the male actors get 9% in the pool and jennifer is only at 7pts. You may recall Jennifer was at 5 (amy was and is at 7) and WE anted in 2 extra points for Jennifer to get her up to 7. If anyone needs to top jennifer up it's megan [Ellison, head of Annapurna Pictures which co-financed the movie]. BUT I think amy and Jennifer are tied so upping JL, ups AA."

Pascal replied to the email with "there is truth here."

Aside from the revelation that the actresses earned much less than their males counterparts, the leaked Sony data also showed that there is a significant pay gap between male and female staff members in Sony.

The salaries of 6,000 employees were shown in a spreadsheet, with 17 earning more than US$1 million. Only one of the 17 was a woman.

Aside from the leaked gender pay gap, email exchanges between Pascal and "Cleopatra" screenwriter Brian Helgeland saw Pascal suggesting that Helgeland dump Angelina Jolie in favor of Lawrence for the titular role. Helgeland replied that he would consider the change.

The hacker group recently released a statement that any Sony employee who would want their data and files kept private should send them a scripted email. They also promised that "more interesting" material will be released soon.
