T-Mobile is preparing one last event for 2014, named Un-Carrier 8.0. The event will be held on today and should give customers even more holiday deals.

In the information provided about the event, T-Mobile claims it will "share how we continue to rewrite the rules of wireless" at the event, potentially showing some new cost benefits or unused spectrum for better wireless connection.

The last Un-Carrier event happened one day after the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the U.S., where T-Mobile announced WiFi Talk and new data speeds for urban areas.

T-Mobile's aggressive change in 2014 has netted the company over 5 million new subscribers in the U.S., 2.3 million coming in the third quarter of 2014 alone. The front man John Legere has been critical to the changes at T-Mobile, moving them away from quarterly losses.

The new Un-Carrier features, like the elimination of contracts, no international roaming rates and free music from a selection of streaming services has made T-Mobile much more appealing, especially to the younger demographic.

At a time where broadband and wireless in the U.S. is being reconsidered as a utility, T-Mobile is showing there can be competition in the wireless market.

Un-Carrier 8.0 will be hosted by CEO John Legere and available to watch on Yahoo! News. David Pogue will host a Q&A afterwards, taking questions on Twitter.

T-Mobile should reveal the new wideband LTE service, coming into availability in New York soon. The new wideband technology should allow speeds up to 110Mbps, although the typical rate will be much lower.

Wideband LTE launches in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island and Northern New Jersey, alongside some other areas. T-Mobile is dedicated to making this service available all customers in 2015.
