Sledgehammer Games has announced a new mode, One Shot, for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The new mode will focus on one-shot kills and long range weapons.

In the new mode, players will have reduced health and will only be able to choose from five distinct sniper classes. The snipers have some variety, allowing more mobility or range, depending on the class choice.

Each class will feature the MORS, a bolt-action railgun sniper, alongside different classes, perks and exo-suits. Frequent Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players should have no problem adjusting to the new mode.

One Shot is available to play on all Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare platforms and the Double XP weekend has been extended, following the outages to the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on Christmas, lasting 15 hours and three days, respectively.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was the first game to incorporate heavy mobility, allowing players to move up and down levels of the map. This new mobility has made it much harder for snipers to be effective, especially on smaller maps.

This new game mode should offer some respite for sniper mains, who enjoy the ability to pick people off from range. Previous Call of Duty titles have been slammed for overpowered snipers and the ability to spawn camp players.

Sledgehammer Games is also working on a new Call of Duty DLC, focused on Exo Zombies. For the first time since its debut appearance on Call of Duty: World at War, zombies comes as DLC; not included in the main game.
