The Kickstarter-backed project called AirDog is just about to release the latest prototype of a drone that has gained fame as an aerial paparazzi.

The AirDog drone displayed its impressive capabilities at the Consumer Electronic Show 2015 as it followed Madars Apse, the professional skateboarder, as he did tricks on his board.

AirDog was built solely as an aerial cameraman that can follow a person wherever that person goes. It supports Sony and GoPro cameras.

AirDog has the ability to fly autonomously, which means it's self-flying. Second, it's been designed in such a way it can follow people around on its own. And third, it's been equipped with innovative technology that allows it to avoid collisions.

Helico Aerospace Industries, the maker of AirDog, is a Latvian company founded by Edgars Rozentals, who is also its CEO.

One of the key features of AirDog is its 45 miles/hour top speed. Its flight life, which refers to the length of time it can stay airborne, depends on the set speed. But on average, it can fly for about 10 to 20 minutes. AirDog can track movement up to a thousand feet away.

AirDog can be pre-ordered for $1,295. The suggested retail price, on the other hand, is $1,495. AirDog is small enough it can be placed in a backpack.
