(Photo : Reuters) Jan 11, 2015; Green Bay, WI, USA; Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant (88) is unable to catch a pass against Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields (37) in the fourth quarter in the 2014 NFC Divisional playoff football game at Lambeau Field.

After a stunning pass from Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys were a mere yard away from beating the Green Bay Packers. However, Dez Bryant's 31-yard catch was reversed and this knocked the Cowboys out of the playoffs (26-21).

Bryant's catch took the Cowboys to the 1-yard line in the dying minutes of the game. Moments later, Bryant stood near the sideline with a look of disbelief and disappointment, hands raised to his head.

His catch had been overturned.

The thing that upset Bryant the most was that the 31-yard catch was overturned on video replay.

"Look, I'll tell you this, I've never seen that a day in my life. I want to know why it wasn't a catch," said an emotional Bryant, his voice sounding as if it was going to crack a couple of times.

It is fourth down with a little less than five minutes to go. Then, Romo throws a deep pass left to Bryant who comes down at the 1.

Coach Mike McCarthy seemed to see otherwise. He let a challenge flag fly through the air. He said that he threw the flag because it was such an impactful play, so he had to challenge it.

The replay showed that Bryant bobbled the ball as he rolled into the end zone with part of it touching the field. After reviewing the play, officials overturned the call, saying Bryant did not maintain control all the way to the ground.

Throughout the game though, Bryant finished with three catches for 38 yards.

DeMarco Murray on the other hand ran for 123 yards on 25 carries.

Romo finished 15 of 19 for 191 yards.

For all intents and purposes, the Cowboys looked to win the game. Yet it wasn't meant to be as they squandered an eight point lead in the third quarter.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said this was a very disappointing time for him. It was a difficult challenge and the players gave it their all but their efforts still fell short, he said.
