AllCast Available On iOS

Cross-platform media streaming service AllCast is finally available on iOS.

Media streaming service AllCast is available on virtually every platform, but iOS has always been the missing link, until now.

The developers in charge of AllCast announced iOS support earlier this week, allowing users to send music, photos and videos to a large collection of TV devices.

Users will be able to send iOS music, photos and videos to Roku TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox One and a few more TV devices, as long as the device supports DLNA.

AllCast does have some limitations, including support for services like Twitch.TV and YouTube, which Google does support with its own 'Cast' app. Google also allows users to send the web browser to the TV.

However, AllCast is agnostic when it comes to platforms, meaning the user can pick Android, iOS or the web to send media, while Google's own service does not work on iOS.

Google does feature its 'Cast' option on apps like YouTube in iOS, but for sending media, AllCast is the best solution for now. It can be picked up for free, but if users want to send more than 10 minutes of video, they need to buy the premium version for $3.99.

For Windows Phone users, hopefully AllCast will be available soon. The developers have not given a timeline of what is coming next, but since Windows Phone is the third largest mobile platform, it should be next in line for AllCast support.
