U.S. soccer star Hope Solo is currently being held without bail on charges of domestic violence early Saturday after assaulting two relatives in Seattle, Washington.

Police said officers responded to a 911 emergency call from a male caller saying that a woman would not stop "hitting people" or leave the house.

When the police arrived at the residence, Solo appeared to be "intoxicated and upset," and after interviewing Solo's sister and 17-year-old nephew, who appears to have visible injuries, police determined that she was the "primary aggressor and had instigated the assault."

32-year-old Solo is married to former National Football League (NFL) player Jerramy Stevens. She has been the goalkeeper for the United States women's national soccer team since 2000 and has won two Olympic gold medals.

Hope Amelia Solo Stevens currently plays goalkeeper for the Seattle Region FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), a professional soccer league that started in 2012.

Solo is no stranger to controversy. She appeared in TV's "Dancing with the Stars" in 2011 with professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy to whom she had frequent disputes as well as the judges. They were eventually eliminated in the run.

In the 2012 Olympics, Solo almost did not play for the national team after she tested positive for a diuretic which the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency banned. She claims that she didn't know that the substance was in premenstrual medication prescribed by her physician.

"I don't expect any of the media to be positive. But I know that I'm doing wonderful things for the sport of soccer and I know I'm doing amazing things for female athletes. So I can take it," Solo told CNN in an interview.

Speaking about Solo's public image, she said: "I have a bad rap. People look at me as selfish, outspoken. But I know who I am."
