The historic street monument currently features five-pointed terrazzo and brass Stars embedded into the pavements along Hollywood Boulevard. As of March 6, 2014, the Walk of Fame consisted of 2,518 stars spaced at six foot intervals

The Stars are embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood. They are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry.

The Walk of Fame is a very popular tourist destination, which attracts over 10 million tourists every year.

It extends 1.3 miles from east to west on Hollywood Boulevard, from North Gower Street to North La Brea Avenue. There is a short segment of Marshfield Way that runs diagonally between Hollywood and La Brea and 0.4 miles north to south on Vine Street between Yucca Street and Sunset Boulevard.

The Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and maintained by the self-financing Hollywood Historic Trust.
