"I would like to apologize to my fans, teammates, coaches, marketing partners and the entire US Soccer and Seattle Reign FC communities for my involvement in a highly unfortunate incident this past weekend," Solo said in a post on her page.

Hope Amelia Solo Stevens currently plays for the Seattle Reign FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and is married to former National Football League (NFL) player Jerramy Stevens. She has been the goalkeeper of the U.S. National Soccer team since 2000 and has won two Olympic gold medals.

The two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Solo has been released without bail Monday after pleading not guilty on domestic assault charges against two relatives in suburban Seattle, Washington.

32-year-old Solo appeared in court, dressed in white shirt and black. She only said "I do" when asked if she understood the domestic violence assault charges against her.

Solo was then ordered by the court not to have any contact with the alleged victims and not to drink any alcohol.

"I understand that, as a public figure, I am held to a higher standard of conduct," Solo said. "I take seriously my responsibilities as a role model and sincerely apologize to everyone I have disappointed."

"I love my family dearly," Solo said. "We, like all families, have our challenges but my sincere hope is that we are able to resolve this situation as a family. Adversity has always made us stronger and I know this situation will be no different."

The US National Women's team is currently ranked No. 1 by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and had a recent match against France just two days before the incident where Solo did not start as goalkeeper due to family commitments.

Solo is set to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on August 11.
