Former Olympian Bruce Jenner, who was recently involved in a multi-injury car crash, will be further examined by Los Angeles County Investigators through his phone records and video surveillance to determine the main cause of the accident, USA Today reports.

"The investigator will decide whether cellphone information is needed from the drivers," said Sgt. Phillip Brooks, a County Sheriff.

"That is a strong possibility in this case," Brooks further added. Brooks also emphasized that even when one of the drivers was probably busy on their phone before the accident occurred, it would be very hard to determine if that action precipitates to the consecutive events.

“No one is standing by the side of the road with a stopwatch," Brooks explained. “Jenner was driving a black Cadillac Escalade, pulling a trailer when he rammed into Lexus Sedan, which also crashed into a Toyota Prius.

The Lexus veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Hummer," Brooks narrated the recent accident, which occurred two days ago. The accident took place in the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

A 70 year old woman, the driver of the Lexus Sedan, was declared dead on the scene of the accident. Other people involved in the accident had minor injuries.

Jenner, though unscathed, was subjected to sobriety tests and blood sample extraction, which he fully cooperated without objection. Both tests came out negative for anything suspicious.

However, a recent photo was released that Jenner was smoking a cigarette before the accident occurred and not holding a cellphone, which rules out other possibilities.

"My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones and to all those who were involved and injured in the terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what the family is going through at this time. I am praying for them, I will continue to cooperate in every way possible," Jenner said in an official statement after the accident occurred.
