f(x)'s Amber Dubbed Most Popular K-Pop Idol by Billboard

After pulling off a successful solo stage last February 12, Amber Liu, one of the two Chinese members of the South Korean girl group f(x), has been mentioned by Billboard in one of its post, saying that she might just the most popular idol in K-pop.

Last Monday, Liu, who is known for her tomboyish charms, made her solo debut with her song 'Shake That Bass' which features her label mate Kim Taeyeon of Girls' Generation. Her new music video has garnered much attention due to its fun and quirky quality.

Amber has caught the attention of Billboard as well and has made some positive comments about the 22-year old female rap artist's new song and stated that she might as well be the most popular K-idol among all the K-pop artists.

Billboard noted the fact that the video for 'Shake That Bass' featured almost every single K-pop figure, mostly her friends in the industry, including some notable K-idols such as g.o.d.'s Joon Park, miss A's Min and Meng Jia, NU'EST's Aron and Girls' Generation's Tiffany and Hyoyeon.

Members of rookie groups have also been included in the music video including Irene of Red Velvet, a new girl group which is also under SM Entertainment, GOT7's Jackson Wang and others.

Considering the number of other artists who have participated in the making of the video, Billboard stated that Liu is a popular figure among her fellow K-pop idols. In addition, despite the other statistically more popular artists featured in her MV, Liu still held the spot as the main focus of the song.

Liu has also been commended for her rapping skills. Billboard says, "Over a horn-laden beat that sounds like something Missy Elliot would craft up, Amber lays down rap after rap with her signature fire."

In related news, Liu will be making an appearance in the upcoming episode of SBS Roommate 2 together with Henry Lau and BamBam of GOT7.
