It took Serbian Novak Djokovic three hours and 56 minutes to win his second Wimbledon crown against seven-time titlist Roger Federer at the All England Club in London.

Seven-time Grand Slam winner Federer took the first set the hard way as Djokovic forced him into a tie-break but eventually winning with his accurate serves.

The second set went Djokovic's way as he had a chance to break Federer's serve and took advantage of it.

In the third set, both players were able to hold serve and put the set into another tie-break. The 4th seed Federer made however made some untimely unforced errors that finished the set in favor of the Serb.

Federer had a chance to break Djokovic's serve in the fourth set and the 2012 Wimbledon champion Federer made no mistakes and took the opportunity to put the match into overtime.

It's all nerves of steel for Djokovic as he faces again the possibility of placing second for the fourth Grand Slam in a row. But reminded of being eliminated in the semi-finals of 2012 Wimbledon championships by eventual winner Federer, Djkovic played out a vigorous mental game and took a rare advantage of breaking Federer's serve to finish a superb five set championship match 6(7)-7(9) 6-4 7(7)-6(4) 5-7 6-4.

"I could have easily lost my concentration in the fifth set and just handed him the win. But I didn't and that's why this win has a special importance to me mentally because I managed not just to win against my opponent but win against myself as well, and find that inner strength that got me the trophy today," said Djokovic after the match.

Tennis legend and two-time Wimbledon champion American Jimmy Connors was on-hand to witness the finals and had only praises for the Serbian champion. "He showed guts and real character to take charge in the fifth set after the disappointment of the fourth. How he handled it was pretty spectacular. Great stuff," said Connors.
