It's no secret Samsung phablets have dominated its rivals in market share. The upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will probably continue the South Korean company's reign in the phablets market.

Samsung released the Galaxy Note 4 in September 2014 but rumors of an upcoming release of a Galaxy Note 5 has already started making the rounds.

Pundits are placing the expected launch date of the Note 5 this September. There's reason for this speculation since Samsung regularly launches its products at regular intervals.

Even if Samsung does launch the Galaxy Note 5 in September, the phablet will likely be ready for sale in October.

A lot is riding on the success of upcoming Samsung products like the Galaxy Note 5.  The South Korean phone maker suffered a dismal year in 2014 in sales and one reason for that was the lack of exciting features in the smartphones Samsung regularly releases.

The Note 5, however, is rumored to have been upgraded to better compete with other leading smartphone brands.

If the rumors are true, the Galaxy Note 5 will feature major improvements in specs over its predecessor. 

It's said the Note 5 will have a 3840 x 2160 pixel 4K display in Ultra HD. With regards to design, Samsung has already confirmed the Galaxy Note 5 will not have a full metal body. 

The company's phone designers believe that would make the Note 5 feel "hard and cold."  They also claim changing batteries would be much easier if they use a soft cover instead of metal.

For its OS, it's more likely the Note 5 will run the Android 5 Lollipop version.  The processor to be used is probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or maybe even a faster processor chip.
