An argument between two men is believed to be the reason behind the Friday, the 13th, shooting rampage on a Mississippi family of five that left two members dead.

Donna Davis, a neighbor who lives across the street, recounts that the three survivors knocked frantically at her door at a little past midnight to seek help. She said the scene looked like straight from a horror movie since the survivors were wounded and bloodied, reports Natmonitor.com.

Because of so much blood that Davis saw on the three survivors, she thought they have been hit by a car.

What really happened was that 32-year-old Jimmy Lyons and 31-year-old Jermaine Sims earlier had an argument, although the issue they argued over is yet to be known, said Brookhaven Police Captain Clint Earls.

Lyons went after the argument to the Sims residence in Brookhaven where he shot all five family members. The gunshot wounds of Jermaine and his 9-year-old daughter were fatal. The two died later at the hospital. The mother, 29-year-old Victoria, and two children ages 14, a girl, and 6, a boy, survived the rampage but are still in critical condition.

The police found the three in Davis's house wounded. Lyons was still in the Sims's house when the cops came, so he was arrested.

The boy's wounds include cuts, which indicates he was attacked with a knife. Davis recalls, "The little boy, he was half under the porch like he was trying to hide from someone. He was screaming for help," quotes AP.

Earls said the police would have to wait for the three to get better for them to get more information on what happened. What is known so far is that the Sims own the house where Lyons lived.

Lyons is detained at the Lincoln County jail. He faces two counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
