GOT7’s Jackson Receives Harsh Backlash for Posting Blackface Photo

GOT7's Jackson Wang received harsh backlash from netizens after he uploaded a photo which featured himself with a blackface on his Instagram account. The photo immediately caught the attention of numerous Instagram users who accused the Hong Kong rapper of being racist.
The photo was uploaded to the photo and video-sharing social networking service on Monday. Jackson who was wearing a black cap backwards captioned the photo "Oh my god... Oh my... #jacksonwang #jyp #got7 #igot7."

Followers and even fans of the 20-year old responded negatively to his post-a lot of whom expressed that they are disappointed with Jackson's decision to repost the photo, which happens to be created by a fan. Other users also found the photo offensive and did not hold back pointing out that the post was insensitive and racist.
Realizing his mistake after coming across users' comments, Jackson immediately apologized to his fans and wrote in a separate post, "I'm really really sorry if I offended anybody." He explained that he didn't have any clue as to what was going on until he read the comments. He soon realized his mistake and said sorry for the misunderstanding, before telling his fans, "Love you guys so much and thank you so much for letting me know."
Before finally calling it a day, he apologized once more. After saying good night to everyone, he again said sorry, and ended the post with "Kiss kiss ;) BAM!"
The controversial photo has already been deleted.
