Many people look at the latest Apple iPhone 6 Plus released Sept. 9, 2014 as a signal the big screen phablets wars will continue to rage for some time.

Samsung as the front-runner took up the challenge in October with the release of the Galaxy Note 4, to challenge the former with a bigger screen, the Inquirer noted.

The aluminum iPhone 6 Plus comes with a smaller 5.5-inch screen than the faux leather plastic-built Galaxy Note 4's 5.7-inch screen but is three percent longer and 13 percent thinner than that of the former, and two percent lighter in weight.

In the stylus department, however, the Galaxy Note 4 boastsof Samsung's new S-pen whereas the iPhone 6 Plus comes with the ordinary finger swiping and tapping touch mode.

iPhone 6 users can select over 1,000,000 mobile apps exclusively designed for iPhone through the App Store while the Galaxy Note 4's multi window is only compatible with a selected group of apps.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 brags about its multi-window function that lets users see multiple apps all at once. It also has a built-in IR blaster that allows users to control their TV (and cable/satellite box) with their device.

The Note 4 also has a fast charging feature that can charge from 0 to 50 percent in about half an hour, which is not featured in the iPhone Plus 6. The Note 4 also has an ultra power saving mode that extends standby time and reduces battery consumption by displaying a simpler layout and allowing limited access to an app.

Samsung already reigns in the phablet department, but Apple's new arrival makes for a more interesting war ahead.
