Following the tragic accident, the group's manager, referred to by the media as Mr. Park, was brought into police custody and is said to be facing charges of excessive speeding and has been sentenced to 14 months in jail.

However, according to reports, on March 25, Park was presented to Seoul's court of appeals and has submitted a petition to appeal for his initial sentence.

Reports state that the 27-year old manager did not deny the charges against him, but made an appeal on grounds that he did as much as he could to call for help and assist those who were involved in the accident.

Despite his appeal, the prosecution insisted that his initial sentence is too short and should be extended to two years and six months. The prosecutor stated, "I appealed because I judged the sentence against Mr. Park to be light."

Park's camp responded to the prosecution, explaining that they find the punishment to his offense too severe.

On the one hand, the surviving members of Ladies' Code, Ashley, Sojung and Zuny, reportedly recovered well from their injuries which the accident caused. In addition, the three members are currently preparing for their comeback. The date is yet to be confirmed by Polaris Entertainment, the group's managing company

In related news, the tragedy brought increased public attention on the hectic schedules of K-Pop idols as well as the driving conditions in South Korea.
