It is necessary to be good at basic shooting skills as a basketball point guard, and shooting beyond the three-point line has always been rear guards' conventional weapon. In this offseason, Jeremy Lin is engaged in practicing this.

Last week, Jeremy's shooting coach said Jeremy had a strong will in becoming better shooter in next season, "His hit rate now is as high as 78%. He will focus on practicing three-point shot."
However, in the first season Jeremy joined NBA, his relevant hit rate was only 20.0%, and this was actually not qualified as a rear guard. Since then, Jeremy has continuously lifted his three-point shotting capability, till the end of last season, his hit rate was 33.9%, which was still an unideal performance. 33.9% hit rate could only be ranked the 36th in the 2012-2013 regular season.
Therefore, Jeremy is centering on practicing three-point shot in this offseason. He uploaded an picture onto the instagram yesterday in which Jeremy and his brother stood beside the shooting machine. And Jeremy himself added an annotation, reading that "We kept practicing three-point shot until this machine couldn't count." According to the figures shown on the shooting machine, Lin shot 999 three pointers, and successfully hit 783, his hit rate is around 78%, which is just in line with the his coach's comments.
