Thanks to a win at the Chinese Grand Prix last Sunday, Mercedes is back on top chiefly due to the efforts of Lewis Hamilton. However, the win does not come without any costs, as a visible rift is forming with teammate Nico Rosberg.

Coming in to the race, Hamilton was sure that Ferrari would not repeat their surprising feat of winning two weeks ago at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

In order to make sure Ferrari would not come out on top this time, Hamilton conserved his tires and withstood a challenge by the Italian team's Sebastian Vettel. His tire-conversation strategy allowed Hamilton to capture a huge lead over Vettel at the second pit stop.

Thanks to his efforts, he captured his fourth Chinese Grand Prix and 35th career win.

Rosberg finished second in the race. Again. He blamed Hamilton for his misfortune, saying that his teammate was holding him back in the race.

In the post-race press conference, Rosberg said that Hamilton's measured pace had allowed for the Ferrari driver to stay close throughout the race and caused his tires to wear out by the end of the race.

Rosberg was evidently fed up with how Hamilton was just thinking about himself and was not thinking about how his strategy affected Rosberg.

"It was unnecessarily close with Sebastian as a result and it cost me a lot of race time," said Rosberg.

The tense conference though saw Hamilton just smile back at Rosberg's accusations and say that he did not purposefully try to hold his teammate down.

Hamilton stated that it was not his job to look after Rosberg. His only job was to manage the car and bring it back to the finish line as healthy and fast as possible.

Rosberg and Hamilton have been close childhood friends. However, tensions have been mounting as they the teammates battled for the drivers' championship last year.
